Privacy and cookies
MotionKit is the controller of the personal information described here. This page explains what we collect when you use MotionKit, why, and who helps us process it.
What we collect
- Your email address, to create your account and send login links and service emails.
- What you make: the descriptions and links you enter, the text read from pages you link to, and the videos designed for you, so they are saved to your account.
- Usage records: each time you design, change or export a video, so we can apply your plan's allowance.
- Billing details: your plan and a customer reference from Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe. We never see or store them.
- Technical logs: standard server logs such as IP address and browser type, kept briefly for security and fault finding.
We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies, and we do not sell your information.
Why we use it
- To provide the service you signed up for (performance of our contract with you).
- To take payment and keep accounting records (contract and legal obligation).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse of the free trial (our legitimate interests).
Who processes it for us
- Supabase: account login and database.
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Anthropic: the AI that designs your videos. Your description, and the text of any page you link to, are sent to it for that purpose.
- Stripe: payments.
- Resend: sending login emails.
- Google Fonts: the typefaces used on the site and in videos are loaded from Google, which receives your IP address when your browser requests them.
Some of these providers process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and videos until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Billing records are kept for six years, as tax law requires. Server logs are kept for a short period.
Cookies and browser storage
We use only what the site needs to work:
- Login cookies set by our login provider keep you signed in.
- Browser storage remembers how long your videos take to design, so the time estimate improves. It stays on your device.
- Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout and billing pages to process payments and prevent fraud.
Because these are strictly necessary, we do not show a cookie banner.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop or limit how we use it. Email hello@motionkitai.com and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
MotionKit is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this page in a way that matters, we will email account holders before the change takes effect.
